I never thought I’d see the day when . . .

I never thought I’d see the day when . . .

. . . public “servants” dismissing adulterous affairs as unimportant and unrelated to the political office they hold and they’re not bothered by the role they model for adolescents and young adults.

. . . 6th graders – adults would be broadcasting inappropriate, indiscreet pictures of themselves through electronic devices without regard for their reputation.

. . .  schools would need to take extreme caution to prevent firearms and explosives onto the school campus.

. . . families would be run by children, with parents condescending to their whims and wishes for fear of losing their children’s “friendship.”

. . . individuals would be displaying parts of their bodies that are normally covered by “everyday clothing” (or swim wear at the least) in public at shopping centers & malls, restaurants and even in churches.

. . . adults would be cohabiting without the commitment of marriage and seeing no problem with it.

. . . teenagers would be involved in promiscuous, transient sexual activities with friends, casual acquaintances and strangers believing there is no responsibility or consequence for their behavior.

. . . churches would be dismissing pastors when there is no moral or ethical reason, engaged in conflict within the congregation, and competing with other churches with the frequency that such tragedies are occurring in our society today.

. . . a growing number of ministers would be admitting to, and/or would be caught in, unethical and immoral conduct.

Is our society, in this day and time, scary, or what!??

On the other side of the coin , . . .

. . . I have never seen as many Christians stepping out to talk about their faith as at this period.

. . . there have never been as many avenues for individual Christians and churches to present the Gospel.

. . . the need to be consistently committed to Jesus in our daily lives is so important because of the number of people who are watching for Christians to make a misstep so they will have ammunition to fire at us, churches and God.

. . . the same media tools that are being used to destroy lives and lead people away from God are available to us to bring people to know Jesus and be encouraged and instructed in how to grow as Believers.

. . . it’s encouraging to know that many churches are stepping out to develop ministries that are sorely needed to support recovering people and those they hurt.

. . . there are those ministers who are being open and transparent with their congregations, admitting that they are dealing with struggles in life, just as are those they are serving.

So . . . the future is bright for ministers and the Believers who compose the church.  We will overcome the world’s deceptions and be what He wants to us be.  I believe that with God’s resources through His Spirit, we access the available accountability and support our family of Believers was created by God to be.

“All the believers were together and had everything in common. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.”
– Acts 2: 44, 46b-47
